I’m about to rack up some frequent flyer miles carrying the foresight message. I have been cutting back on speaking the last few years, but nonetheless find a bit of a world tour coming up.
The World Futures Studies Federation 50th Anniversary Conference , Paris, October 25-26.
A key reason for going to this conference is the U of Houston Foresight program is going to be recognized as the first globally accredited Master’s Program in Foresight. [I will write this up separately in few weeks, but very exciting news]. Two sessions I’m leading here:
- Transforming Future Studies: Exploring Accreditation’s Impact, Andy Hines, Luke van der Laan
- The Evolution of Foresight Methodology
The Insights Association Corporate Researchers Conference, Chicago, November 3rd
My session is “Sneak Preview: The Future” is an interactive mini-workshop exploring potentially disruptive changes in consumer values, work and business, and technology modules. We will do a brief “table talk” in between modules to identify the most disruptive changes. We’ll wrap by asking tables to do a brief elevator speech of the single most impactful change they identified during the session.
The Possible Futures Festival 2023, Casa Firjan, Rio de Janeiro, November 24th
I’ll be sharing tips on “How to Think about Futures for thinking about the future with lots of examples and I’ve even got the green light to toss in a few tidbits about After Capitalism.
Fingers crossed, we’ll be teaching a custom certificate course in Alaska before Christmas and be visiting UAE early in the New Year. It’s good to see the growing interest in the foresight message! – Andy Hines
