Looking for opportunities for co-creation with tools, templates, and advice in product and service offerings
“Help me help myself” is the first of six emerging need states at the core of our fourth meta need “The [relentless] pursuit of happiness” in ConsumerShift.
These consumers are active participants in their pursuit of happiness. It is a personal quest. Their core needs of participation and creation lead them to be pioneers in the trend toward co-creation. They are highly self-aware and will often be involved in some form of self-help. They see this more as helping them to reach their potential rather than as a negative view of fixing problems.
They enjoy the self-discovery process. They feel they have lots to contribute to life and are eager to share their contributions with others. They want to be treated with the respect they feel they deserve. They enjoy challenging themselves, learning, and gaining new experiences. For interests or pursuits they deem worthy of their time, they prefer to be actively involved. In extreme form, the concept of helping oneself is found in the consumer augmentation and pushing the envelope. Andy Hines
