As many readers here likely know, I did my dissertation on the experience and possibilities of organizational futurists. My motivation is that I believe we need more futurists “inside” if we are going be more effective and spread futures thinking. The approach and skill sets for organizational futurists are different. For instance, they need to be much more politically savvy, not something natural to futurists!
Dissertations are not very useful for spreading the word, so I jumped at the chance to produce an article version for a special issue on corporate foresight a year or so ago for Technological Forecasting & Social Change.
