You can take the horse to water, but you can’t make it drink!
How many times have we futurists said this or something like it? All too often is my guess!
Why are there so many thirsty horses out there? Why aren’t these horses/clients drinking? In a recent chapter I noted how over the last few decades, clients have been asking to get closer and closer to implementation. To go beyond implications, options, and provide very specific recommendation on just what they should do. Some futurists might say – “that’s their job, not ours.” Historically true, but is it time for us to reconsider this?
It seems our thirsty horses are shy. They want us to drink the water together with them. Shall we? – Andy Hines
